Fee Types

Standard Fee

Our fees remain well below the Australian Psychological Society National Schedule of Recommended Fees of $300 for a standard 46 to 60-minutes consultation.

At My Wellness Psychology our standard fee for a 50-minutes consultation is $210. This fee includes additional non- contact time for preparation, writing notes, referral correspondence and other non-billable tasks.

Many consultations qualify for a Medicare rebate or Private Health Fund rebate, reducing your out-of-pocket expense. You cannot obtain a Medicare rebate and a health fund rebate for the same consultation.

If you are insured with a Private Health Fund and have Extras, you may be eligible for rebates for psychological therapy. As rebates vary between private health funds, it is recommended that you contact your fund to determine your eligibility and specific rebate entitlements. If eligible, you will be able to use your paid invoice to self-claim your rebate.

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment by registered psychologists under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. The current Medicare rebate from 1 July 2022 is $89.65 for a general psychologist. To get a Medicare rebate an appropriate referral from a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician is required. A referral from a GP must be accompanied by a Mental Health Care Plan. Please ask your GP to send it securely to our practice or you may bring your GP plan with you. After you pay for your appointment, we can process your Medicare claim for you. If the claim is accepted by Medicare, they will pay the rebate into the bank account you have registered to your Medicare card.

NDIS

The standard fee for NDIS clients is $214.41, as NDIS cases typically require more work for the psychologist outside of sessions. We provide supports for NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan managed.

WorkCover

The standard fee for WorkCover clients is $250. This fee is set by WorkCover Queensland.
